What's New This Week - January 04, 2024

As I reflect on 2023, I realize that this was officially my first full calendar year serving as the CEO of this amazing organization and the beginning of 2023 was the true launching point for a trajectory of success built on a foundation strengthened through changes in our operations, member relations and engagement, and in advocacy – both for our Chamber members and the community-at-large.  As we wrap up a year of rebuilding, re-engaging, and reinventing, I have also realized that we need to get better at reporting back to our membership and our community exactly what we’ve been up to!  Let this report be the first of many more to come!

Carrie McEachran, CEO

Lambton Public Health is committed to helping community organizations improve mental health in their workplaces and we’re calling on local leaders to make it a priority.
The Canadian Chamber of Commerce has identified that each week in Canada, 500,000 employees are absent from work due to a mental health problem or illness, which is more than a $51 billion annual cost to the economy. With most adults spending more of their waking hours at work than anywhere else, addressing issues of mental health at work is vitally important.
What is Mental Health?
Mental health is a state of well-being where the individual realizes their own abilities, can cope with the normal stresses of life, can work productively, and are able to make a contribution to their community1
