Sarnia Lambton Chamber of Commerce Passes Policy Resolution at the Ontario Chamber of Commerce AGM
The Sarnia Lambton Chamber of Commerce is pleased to have the support from Chambers across the province for our policy resolution submitted at the Ontario Chamber of Commerce (OCC) AGM. This resolution, Maintaining Policy and Regulatory Consistency, was presented and passed at the AGM, and is now on the OCC's 2025-2028 Policy Compendium.
The OCC continues to advocate and highlight the recommendations from these resolutions on behalf of the Chamber Network through regular meetings with government and staff, media engagement, policy primers and reports.

Strengthening Ontario’s Civil Justice System
The Ontario Chamber of Commerce (OCC), in partnership with local Chambers across the province—including the Sarnia Lambton Chamber of Commerce—has submitted feedback to the Ontario Civil Rules Review Working Group. This submission reflects the business community’s shared concern that Ontario’s current civil court system is too slow, too complex, and too costly—especially for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
The OCC’s response supports the Working Group’s proposal to streamline civil procedures, including:
However, the Chamber also emphasized the need for careful implementation—especially to avoid increased upfront legal costs for small businesses—and called for investment in judicial capacity and digital modernization.
🧾 A more efficient, fair, and accessible civil justice system is essential for business confidence and economic competitiveness.
If you have thoughts or experience, you'd like us to share with the OCC on future legal or regulatory issues, we welcome your input. Let’s work together to make Sarnia-Lambton a better place to do business.
