Government Affair Committe

Our volunteer committees play an important role in advancing the priorities of our business community. Today we’re pleased to highlight the Government Affairs Committee, chaired by Shauna Carr (Sarnia-Lambton Economic Partnership).

This committee serves as a key connection between the Sarnia Lambton business community and all levels of government. On behalf of our members, the committee examines issues that impact local businesses and works to develop policy positions, resolutions, and recommendations that support a strong economic environment.

The committee also:
• Reviews government policies, budgets, and regulations that affect businesses
• Develops advocacy positions for approval by the Chamber Board of Directors
• Engages with municipal, provincial, and federal representatives
• Helps coordinate advocacy initiatives, including government meetings and policy discussions

2026 Committee Members:

  • Shauna Carr (Chair) – Sarnia-Lambton Economic Partnership
  • Sue Burgel (Past Chair) – Express Employment Professionals
  • Matt McEachran – Plank Road Industrial Park
