Vaughan Chamber of Commerce and Sarnia Lambton Chamber of Commerce Convene Regional Energy Dialogue to Advance Industrial Growth and Economic Growth Across Ontario
The Vaughan Chamber of Commerce is leading a province-wide engagement initiative focused on energy-agnostic solutions that reflect Ontario’s diverse industrial and regional realities. As part of this strategy, the Sarnia Lambton Chamber of Commerce is serving as host and convener for a regionally focused roundtable examining Southeastern Ontario’s energy strengths, opportunities, and regulatory challenges.
Sarnia–Lambton is home to one of Ontario’s most established refining and petrochemical clusters, with growing innovation in hydrogen, energy storage, and emissions reduction technologies. The dialogue will bring together industry leaders, Indigenous representation, and regional stakeholders to explore how Ontario can strengthen energy reliability, investment certainty, and long-term industrial competitiveness.
Carrie McEachran, CEO of the Sarnia Lambton Chamber of Commerce, said:
“Sarnia–Lambton has long been at the forefront of Ontario’s energy and petrochemical sectors, and our region continues to evolve as a hub for innovation in hydrogen, emissions reduction, and advanced manufacturing. By convening industry leaders, Indigenous partners, and policymakers, this dialogue ensures that Southeastern Ontario’s expertise and capacity are central to shaping the province’s energy future. An energy-agnostic approach that prioritizes reliability, regulatory clarity, and investment certainty will enable our industries to remain globally competitive while driving sustainable economic growth across Ontario”
Abdus Samad, Vice President of the Vaughan Chamber of Commerce, added:
“Ontario’s energy future depends on recognizing the distinct strengths of each region. By convening engagement sessions across key economic hubs like Sarnia–Lambton, we are advancing a coordinated approach that connects Vaughan’s robust manufacturing base with one of the province’s most established refining and petrochemical clusters. This energy-agnostic framework supports industry-led emissions reduction, strengthens domestic supply chains, and helps break down regulatory barriers that constrain investment. Together, these conversations are shaping nation-building energy and infrastructure projects that create jobs, support Indigenous partnerships, and reinforce Ontario’s long-term economic competitiveness.”
This initiative is part of a broader series of regional engagements through Ontario’s economic hubs designed to spotlight local priorities and help navigate regulatory challenges including those at the federal level. Insights gathered will support advocacy aimed at driving investment certainty and enhancing Ontario’s energy competitiveness across all communities.
